Neat Freaks 1 Me 0

Today I scoured my entire house for my Diablo 2 CD keys. A couple of years ago I picked up the Diablo Battlechest from Best Buy, which contained Diablo, Diablo 2, and the Diablo 2 expansion, along with a Strategy guide for all three. I had lost track of my previous copies of the games, and Best Buy was having a sale and I could get all of them for the low price of 15 dollars. Great deal, right?

Fast forward to present day. A friend messages me. "Hey man, we should play D2." I immediately agree. As old as it is, Diablo 2 is still one of my all time favorites. No game to date has captured the same precise concoction of story, atmosphere, and artistry - all thanks to the freak geniuses they kept locked in the basement at Blizzard North.

So, I proceeded to search for my CD keys, because like some sort of drooling moron, I failed to register my product with Battle.net when I still had the keys in my possession. I've managed to locate the box, all three discs, all three CD sleeves, all three instruction manuals, and the strategy guide. No keys. The wonderful guys over at the Internet tell me that the CD keys should be located on the CD case. Wait, what CD case? The game didn't come with any.

At this point, I've given up on the search. I tore my basement to bits just to find the box and the rest. It seems like my only option now is to either go without, or allow Blizzard to leech another 40 dollars from me. I want new options.

In the future, I should probably keep this stuff organized.
